Passaic—in partnership with our Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ)—is committed to making this city the very best. One that works for its residents, business owners and workforce in every way, every day. That does what it takes to make the environment safe, secure and attractive. To do everything to make our infrastructure totally dependable, with all systems in place to provide the footing, framework and foundation for success.

This is a great city, one that’s been challenged by adversities that have beset so many urban communities today. We’ve risen to the challenge, and built and nourished an economy that’s generating increased sales and profits for our businesses, and created a standard of living that makes Passaic an exciting and dynamic place to live and work.

Look at all we’ve accomplished to make Passaic a preferred business location and shopping destination of choice:

  • Passaic Crime Statistics

    - Incidents of crime decreased 8.1% from 2007 to 2009
    – Violent crime decreased from 695 incidents in 2007 to 516 incidents in 2009-          a 25% decrease

  • Passaic’s food distribution industry has grown substantially during the last ten years, led by distributors who specialize in Mexican food products. Factors that make Passaic an ideal location include our central location within the New York Metro Market, excellent highway access, growing demand for Mexican products, and our hard-working, conscientious and abundant workforce.
  • Robust downtown economy.
  • Influx of major national franchises such as Subway, Home Depot, K-mart, and Walgreens who are recognizing Passaic as an attractive and profitable business destination.
  • Stable, pro-active City Government.
  • The 2007 Master Plan Re-examination Report included 113 projects, representing a 70% increase from the previous 2001 report.
  • Cultural and ethnic diversity attracts new residents, businesses and consumers.
